Congress workers protesting against new land bill clash with police

The protest against Land Bill is not stopping and here in Delhi, Police had to use cannons of water and a mild lathicharge against those Congressmen who were protesting against Government’s land bill outside Parliament on 16 March 2015.

According to reports, top congressmen and the party workers took to the streets to participate in the protest against the bill. The rally was headed by youth activists in the NCR against the much controversary land bill and resorted to mild lathi charge.

The march began on last friday(13 March 2014) from Bhatta-Parsaul village in Greater Noida district of Uttar Pradesh and reached Rajghat, Jantar Mantar last night. The protesters were raising slogans like “Kisan Virodhi Narendra Modi” against the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi. The senior leaders of Congress party like Jairam Ramesh, Raj Babbar, Randeep Surjewala and Youth Congress’s Amrinder Singh Raja Brar were leading the protest at Jantar Mantar in Delhi.

One of the leader, Jairam Ramesh told the media, “(Our) fight will go on, both in the Parliament and outside against the amendments. We will keep fighting against it.”

Another party leader and actor Raj Babbar questioned the government and said, “We are completely against the amendments. In (proposed) law, farmers don’t have the right to take decision regarding their own land. Even if I take a mere pen from you, I will ask you. Then how come, a farmer, for whom land is his mother, is being asked to hand it over to someone else (without consent)?”.

Party Leader Randeep Surjewala said, “This is India Youth Congress’s (IYC) rally from Bhatta-Parsaul to Parliament. Modi’s black law will disappear. BJP’s anti-farmer face will be unmasked. Both the Congress and farmers will win,”
