We all know about good food and bad food, the junk food and healthy food, the fruits and vegetables uses. For this grains and vegetables are supposed to fill our plates.

But many times in the name of good foods, we go for apple, broccoli, salad and sprouts only and that makes eating right a chore; that means we do no give a try to give our body a remarkable treat which is good  tastier and healthier also at the same time. There are many fruits and food items which are better than the normal foods we eat and consider good for health.

CHILLIES

Chillies, especially the green ones, have generally higher nutritious values than the red ones. They are also very food sources of antioxidants, especially vitamin C and beta carotene.chillies

Chillies also contain plant pigments and bioflavonoids which help prevent cancer. It is normally said in today’s time when the pollution has mixed in almost every thing; be it food, water or air, taking a chilly daily can take care of stomach and is good for it.

Chillies add spice and taste too many foods along with its good medicinal properties. Many people have a belief that chillies can cause ulcers or other digestive problems, but there is not such evidence so far to prove this.

A chilly is hot in nature due to the presence of an ingredient called Capsaicin. So wash your hands and utensils properly after using chillies as a small amount of it can irritate your eyes, and also avoid handling contact lenses after chopping chillies as that can cause irritation to your eyes if you use them directly on to your eyes.

KIWI:

Kiwi is name of New Zealand’s national bird, but that does not mean it was originated there.  Actually, the kiwis were first originated in China and were names as the Chinese gooseberry. But New Zealand fruit growers renamed the fruit as Kiwi and started exporting it. kiwis

Kiwi used to be an exotic fruit and would be rare but now it is available in almost all the metro cities and other places. Kiwis are cold storage to make them available most of the year. Skin of the fruit is very soft and can be eaten directly and the fruit is also eaten raw.

  2. Kiwi is an excellent source of vitamin C.
  3. It’s an excellent source of potassium and fibre.


GRAPEFRUITS

In recent studies it was found that grapefruits contain substances that prevent diseases. It has an antioxidant named Lycopene which lowers chances of prostate-cancer risk.  Harvard study which involved around 48, 000 doctors and other health professionals tested the 10 servings of the lycopene rich foods for a week and found 50 percent reduction in risk of prostate cancer.grapefruits

Grapefruits are also rich source of phenolic acid which inhibits the formation of cancer-causing nitrosamines; terpenes, monoterpenes and limuloids. The provide enzymes that prevent cancer and tumour growth.

Use of grapefruits is also beneficial in the cure of rheumatoid arthritis, lupus and other inflammatory disorders, because of the chemicals that prevent the prostaglandins that cause inflammation.
