India beat Bangladesh in Quarter Finals

It was a brilliant match full of suspense till 35th over of Indian batting, as no body at that point could even imagine of India raising a target of 302 runs.

The Indian captain won the toss and decided to bat first and send two its top openers, Shikhar Dhawan and Rohit Sharma, it was Sharma’s longest inning of 137 runs that proved the turning point of the match.

Bangladesh captain also admitted that had he won the toss, he would also have elected to bat first and putting up a decent score for the opposite team. He said after loosing the match,”India are playing fantastic cricket at the moment and it will be a challenge for any team to beat them. I don’t know who will win tomorrow’s quarter-final between Pakistan and Australia. But it will be an exciting semi-final and I would like to wish India all the best”.

A CONTROVERSIAL DECISION

Rohit Sharma played a super inning of 137 runs off 126 runs and given the man of the match award. He was given a contradictory escape by the umpire, when he was on 90 runs, he made mistake and gave catch in the hands of Rubel Hussain but the ball was declared as no ball by umpire Aleem Dar-Ian, a Pakistani umpire. It was a controversial decision as it was not a no ball as per the experts decisions. This could have been the crucial wicket for Bangladesh team and Sharma was 90 off 101 balls. When he got out then he was 137 off 126 balls.

TWO LONG PARTNERSHIP IN TODAY’S MATCH

We saw two good partnerships in today’s match, one between Shikhar Dhawan and Rohit Sharma (75 runs) and the other between Rohit and Suresh Raina (122 runs). There was no such partnership seen in loosing team.

The Bangladesh Captain,Mashrafe said, “It was brilliant tournament for us. Obviously the way we played today, it was not great. Since 2008, we have not played any cricket in Australia, so it was a real ask for us. But the way the boys responded
to the conditions, I feel very proud as the captain of this team, and hopefully our boys will take it in the next series”.

EARLY DISMISSAL OF MAHMADULLAH

Bangladesh 29 year old batsman Maymensingh has played very well in this would cup but could not play in this match and dismissed very early. Not only Mahmadullah, it was early exit of Shakib-ul-Hassan that reduced the chances of winning for them minimal.

No doubt, Bangladesh bowlers were successful in limiting the strokes by Indian batsmen till the 35th over. Mashrafe further said, “Yeah, we always knew that they will come hard at us after 35th over. They have been brilliant in their matches after  the 35th over. They take the calculated risks and they have had success. Once again, we could not bowl with our plans, and that was the moment, during bowling time. Raina is always a factor in these situations and today Rohit also batted brilliantly. The hundred was a superb knock”.

Muharafe said, “I think except today, our batsmen have done really well throughout this tournament, which is a much needed boost for us. Hopefully, they’ll continue because a very tough year is coming for us. And I think the confidence we got, hopefully it will continue.”

Bangladesh team will go back to their country after losing in Quarter Finals. People in Bangladesh are showing protests again the Umpire’s wrong decision that was taken in favor of Rohit Sharma when he was on 90 runs.

We just hope the India enters the Finals of World Cup by winning all the matches of world cup 2015.
