Salman Khan gets five years in Jail punishment in 2002 hit-and-run case, that took the lives and hurt innocent people who were sleeping on the pavements in night. After hearing the verdict, Salman Khan got shocked and broke
down in tears.
He had returned on Tuesday only from Kashmir to hear the verdict where he was busy in shooting for a film. He can apply for bail in High Court.
On September 28, 2002, the actor was sitting in his Land Cruiser that rammed into a bakery in Bandra area. The incident killed one person and injured four others. The actor said in his defense that he was not driving the car and it was his driver who was behind the wheel, but the judge said the actor was driving the car under the influence of alcohol and was charged with culpable homicide.
The judge gave his verdict within few minutes of his entrance in the court and informed Khan that he was guilty and responsible for the crime. The lawyers from both the sides argued with each other for around three hours but during this time Salman looked calmed and silent.
Salman was wearing white shirt and was accompanied by his family members in the court who were hoping that Salman would come out with clean chit.
Khan’s expressions changed immediately after the judge sentenced him to five years in prison, got shocked and broke into tears.
