World Cancer Day – 4 February

4th February is celebrated as World Cancer Day for creating and raising awareness about this dreadful disease. World Cancer Day was the first time started on the 4 February 2000 at the World Summit Against Cancer for the New Millennium in Paris. World Cancer Day is an initiative of the Union for International Cancer Control, the largest and oldest international cancer organisation dedicated to reducing the global cancer burden.

Cancer has grown up as an epidemic since last few decades, creating a huge burden at personal, interpersonal, social and country level. Associated morbidity and mortality with Cancer is the deteriorating quality of life of millions of people every year. Not only the patient, everyone related to him slowly and steadily, is being dragged into the cyclone of physical pain, mental agony, emotional instability and financial burden.
