Mosquito Dengue FeverSometimes, a mild fever or headache is the result of some serious disease and one such is the case of “Dengue Fever“.

Dengue is a mosquito-borne fever that results due to the biting of a female mosquito, Aedes. The symptoms of this fever are not visible during first couple of days but develop few days after the infection.

Dengue cannot spread from one person to another directly. But when Aedes bites an infected person and sits on a healthy person, the later can get infected too.

It is very difficult to diagnose dengue in the beginning, as the symptoms are very mild and similar to any normal fever. Dengue is an epidemic disease in Asia, Asia-Pacific, Africa, Caribbean etc., that means, it can spread over a larger area.

9 Common Symptoms of Dengue Fever

Many times the symptoms are not visible in the initial days. They start appearing after 5 to 7 days of mosquito bite.

  1. Headache
  2. Fever
  3. Muscle Pain
  4. Rashes on Skin
  5. Disorientation
  6. Shivering
  7. Headache(Intense and repetitive)
  8. Pain behind the eyes
  9. Vomiting and nausea

Usually, dengue fever takes a week for cure and is not that dangerous. But in many cases it can result into internal bleeding and low platelets count. This can lead to the death of a patient also.

Advance stage of dengue infection can cause hemorrhagic fever also. It can cause bleeding from gums, nose or mouth. Internal bleeding and sensitive stomach are painful which can lower the pulse in the body.

Low blood pressure and damage to blood vessel can happen in the hemorrhagic fever. If it is not treated, it can lead to advance form of Dengue fever called DSS.

Dengue Shock Syndrome and Symptoms

When left untreated or in worsened case, dengue can reach to a dangerous state called “Dengue Shock Syndrome”.

Symptoms of Dengue Shock Syndrome(DSS)

  1. Heavy bleeding
  2. Fluid leakage from blood vessels
  3. Disorientation
  4. Vomiting and nausea feeling
  5. Sudden drop in blood pressure

Is Prevention from Dengue Possible?

Mostly kids are more prone to the disease as they are not covered fully many times and have low resistivity to the diseases. The medicine for complete cure of dengue fever is not available in the market.

The only cure is to get prevention from mosquito as it can prove to be fatal if not diagnosed on time. Effective treatment is possible if early diagnosis happens.

Person suffering with fever should be giving a lot of liquid. Some Ayurveda products like, Giloy , Neem or Tulsi are said to lower the fever and increase the level of platelets. Papaya leaves are also given to the patients to increase the level of platelets. Giloy is the best medicine Ayurvedic medicine to cure any disease especially in case of low platelets count. We can take few steps to prevent Dengue Fever

  1. Wear full sleeves clothes as mosquitoes can bit in the open body surface
  2. Apply anti-mosquito creams to keep the mosquitoes away
  3. Do not allow stagnate water in the surroundings
  4. Keep your body healthy by having healthy diet and a lot of liquid
