What are Diatoms?

Diatoms are actually single-celled algae which are found in the water body.

They can be easily found in the houses made of glass. They have very unique cellular structure. Their walls are made up with transparent, opaline silica.

When someone drowns in water, diatoms just enter into the lungs and different body tissues of that drowning victim.

Diatoms create fresh air we breathe

You know the carbon fixation cycle? Yes, the cycle that helps in creating the balance of CO2 gas in the atmosphere.

Diatoms play an important role in this cycle. They help in removing carbon dioxide from the atmosphere through this cycle. They convert this CO2 to organic carbon as sugar and produces oxygen which we breathe.
