What are Trademarks?

A trademark is usually a mark that distinguishes a service from others. It symbolizes a good service and people trust on them while using. For example, Adidas, Nike are trademarks and people presume they would be good in quality and service and ready to pay extra also for the same.

The first Trademark Act came into force in 1999. This is the first time when an architectural design has been registered for trademark. As according to the law, only shape of goods, logos, brand names, colours, numerals or sounds are trademarked.
