She was born on 9 August 1993 to a Bengali family. She represented India at the Summer Olympics 2016.

She scored 4th place in Women’s Vault Gymnastics of Rio Olympics 2016 where she made a perfect overall score of 15.066.

Dipa recalls how she was not considered fit for Gymnastics because of her flat foot in her childhood. But it was her parents who really worked hard for her and got her best coaching for Gymnastics, and the of this is in front of the world now.

She was born on 3 September, 1992 and became the first Indian female wrestler to win a medal at the Olympics. She started her training since when she was 12-year-old. Her achievements are more precious and should be honoured as she represents a state (Haryana) where the female foeticide is a common thing and honor killings and sex-selective abortions are considered normal.

She gives all success credits to her family without whom she would also have married very early with no career in sports. She considers herself lucky as the dreams she saw did not shatter like many Indian girls.
