Virat Kohli is better known for his aggressive approach on the cricket ground unlike MS Dhoni who is better known with “Captain Cool” title.

Virat Kohli is one of the most successful right-handed Indian cricketer who succeeded Dhoni as the captain of Test Matches after he called off his career in test matches. He is also a captain of IPL team, Royal Challengers Bangalore.

Kohli started his cricket career in the year 2008 in One day international matches. In test matches he started in 2011 and in T-20 in the year 2012. He can play well in all the three formats of cricket and has created many records.

Early Life of Virat Kohli

Virat Kohli was born on 5 November, 1988 in Delhi to a Punjabi family. His father, Prem Koli was a criminal lawyer while mother, Saroj Kohli was a housewife. He has two siblings, one elder brother, Vikash and a sister, Bhavna and is youngest to them all. He did his schooling from Vishal Bharti Public School which was near to his place in Uttam Nagar.
He joined West Delhi Cricket Adacemy at the tender age of nine only under the guidance of Rajkumar Sharma.The academy was newly created in 1998 and Kohli was very young that time but his father had seen the interest in him for interest so supported him. He played matches at the Sumeet Dogra Academy at Vasundhara Enclave, Delhi. On asking about his childhood, coach Rajkumar told that he was a very talented boy with lots of energy and would barely sit quiet. He would not go home immediately after the training sessions and sometimes was forcefully sent.
Virat Kohli was very good in academic studies and often considered as a bright student. After the death of his father on 18 December, 2006 he started playing cricket to support his family. His father died due to a prolonged illness after he was suffered with a stroke and was bed-ridden for a longer time.
Virat Kohli is married to the bollywood actress Anushka Married. The duo got hitched on 11 December, 2017 in Italy in the presence of their closed relatives and families

Virat Kohli Career in Cricket

  1. Kohli started his one day cricket career in 2008 but before this he also played under-15 cricket team for 2002-2003 Polly Umrigar Trophy in October 2002.
  2. He was made the captain of the Indian and also scored about 172 runs at an average of 34.40.
  3. Virat Kohli made 390 runs with the help of 2 centuries and two fifties in the 5 innings of the entire series.
  4. He also played for Vijay Merchant Trophy under-7 cricket team and scored 470 runs in four matches in the year 2003-2004. He scored 470 runs with the help of two centuries at an average of 117.50.
  5. In 2006 he played under-19 team for India and went to England. The team Indian played both the formats and won them also. He went on to Pakistan tour after this win and impressed everyone with the batting and runs.
  6. He played in Twenty-Twenty in 2007 and made the highest run in the Inter State championship. He also went to Sri Lanka to play tri-series and made the second highest runs.
  7. Virat Kohli led ICC Under-19 cricket world cup in Malaysia and won too. He received Border-Gavaskar scholarship in the year 2008. As a reward of this, he got an opportunity to complete training in Cricket Australia’s Centre of Excellence in Brisbane for six weeks.

International Cricket Career of Virat Kohli

Virat Kohli had already got fame with his records and game he played in the Indian domestic career. It was in August 2008 when he finally was selected to play his first International cricket career against Sri  Lanka.

He could make only 12 runs in the first match and half century in the fourth match of the same series.  Virat Kohli is sincerely working hard on his skills and improving it constantly. We can see a lot of changes in the way he plays now and easily notice the difference that he used to play earlier.

Virat Kohli made a debut in the IPL cricket career in the year 2008  and played for Royal Challengers Bangalore. His score also improved from 165 runs in the first season to 246 tuns in the second season of IPL. In the third season he made 307 runs and also became the vice captain of the team.

Virat Kohli became the captain of IPL team after the former captain got retired and since then he is the consistent captain only.

He has been playing since a long time and has created many records in his name. As a captain of any cricket team also he has made many records.
