In December 2023 Kamiya visited Jagannath temple in Puri, Odisha. She was backlashed by for her visit soon after her visit video got viral. They all criticized her for promoting the consumption of beef which was against the principles and beliefs of the temple. The rules of temples restrict the entry for beef eaters.

Jatin Mohanty who is the general secretary of the Odisha BJP also demanded for her arrest.
