Early Life and Childhood of Madonna
Madonna was born as Madonna Louise Veronica Ciccone on 16 August, 1958 in Bay City Michigan, US in a Catholic family. Her Paternal grandparents were immigrants from Pacentro, Italy whereas maternal grandparents hailed from French-Canadian ancestory.
Her father, Tony worked for Chrysler and General Motors as engineer. She has two elder brothers. Madonna was nick named as “Little Noni” in her childhood days. One of her elder brother Anthony, was born in 1956 and another Martin was born in 1957. Her three younger siblings are Paula, Christopher and Melanie.
Madonna’s Mother Died of Breast Cancer
Madonna was not born with a silver spoon in her mouth and had to struggle a lot. She had a very tough childhood and also lost her mother at a very early when she was just five years old because of Breast Cancer.
Madonna could not understand the changes that her mother was going thorough in her personality due to the disease, and whenever she asked her mother, she would cry as she found Madonna too small to discuss all this. After her mother’s death, she went to her paternal grandparents house.

In an interview published in Vanity Fair, Madonna shared how she was looking herself as a “lonely girl” who was searching for something. She said, “I wasn’t rebellious in a certain way. I cared about being good at something. I didn’t shave my underarms and I didn’t wear make-up like normal girls do. But I studied and I got good grades….. I wanted to be somebody.”
She was scared of the thought of her father being taken away from her, so she found it difficult to sleep unless she was near to his father, Tony.
Tony married to their housekeeper, Joan Gustafson in 1966, together they had two children Jennifer and Mario. Madonna gained rebellious attitude and started keeping distance from her father after the marriage.
She was creatively inclined towards dancing and singing so she trained as a dancer from the University of Michigan before moving to the New York City to make her career.

Madonna joined musical groups in the beginning, “Emmy” and “Breakfast Club” and sang for them. She released her first debut album in the year 1983 and gave it the name Madonna. This album did not bring her much popularity as the next album “Like a Virgin” brought her which sold around 3 million copies.
She also appeared in movies like “Desperately seeking Susan” in 1985, “In Bed with Madonna” in 1991 and “Evita” in 1996.

Madonna first married to Sean Penn but the marriage lasted only for five years from 1986-1991 and the couple got divorced.
Madonna then married to Guy Ritchie, another handsome Hollywood hunk and together they have a son Rocco also.
Madonna is a mother of two beautiful kids, Lourdes whose biological father is Carlos Leon and Rocco whose biological father is Guy Ritchie. She visited an orphanage in October 2006 where she adopted a baby boy named David Banda.
