This station was constructed by the Britishers in the year 1880.

Since the name of Jhansi Railway Station has got changed to Virangana Lakshmibai Railway Station so a new code was needed to assign to this new renamed station. The old code for the station was “JHS”.

The new code assigned for this station which is VGLB, earlier it was JHS.

Since when the name of the railway station was changed people are speculating why the decision of name change was made.

According to the Uttar Pradesh Government the name was changed to Virangana Laxmibai Raiway Station just to boost the tourism in the area and to get more economical vale to the place.
