What is Kachi Ghani Mustard Oil?

Kachi Ghani is a process of extraction of oil from mustard seeds by using ‘Cold Press’ process at a very low temperature.

The cold press process helps to retain the natural properties of the mustard seeds without getting lost if treated with heat otherwise.

Many brands of mustard oil is sold at low prices in the market which is normally adulterated with argemone oil due to the similar appearance of the two. This reduces the price of oil but is highly illegal and be prohibited as this can damage the health of people.

Natural mustard oil contains essential oil which remains same due to cold press process. These essential oil works as preservatives and provide anti-bacterial and anti-oxidants properties to mustard oil.

Agmark and Indian standard have allowed a permissible limit of moisture in mustard oil. The unsaponifiable matter limit should not be more than 1.2 percent by weight in mustard oil.
