Which is the largest Butterfly of India?
Butterfly is a beautiful creature that comes in different colors, texture and patterns. Its a beautiful living being that is very delicate and helps in one of the most important process of nature; Pollination.
There are so many species of Butterflies which vary according to their wingspans also. Since, 1932 Southern Birdwing was considered as the largest butterfly but now there is a change as per the new findings.
The recent study shows that the largest butterfly of India is Golden Birdwing. The female Golden Birdwing have a wingspan of 196mm while the male counterparts have 106mm only. The wingspan of Southern Birdwing is 190mm which is just 4 mm lesser than the female Golden Birdwing butterflies.
