Do’s with Client Data

  1. Ensure that the personal/sensitive data of your client is not shared outside the client environment
  2. Ensure that while handling personal data you are following necessary safeguard processes
  3. If any incident breach occurs, immediately follow incident management guideline. Every organization has some guidelines realted to security and a dedicated department for this.

Don’t with Client Data

  1. Don’t store or take print out of the client data unless you have taken proper permission ahead from the client
  2. Don’t share any sensitive data, PII of suppliers, employees, clients or any other 3rd party on social media. This is totally prohibited and doing so can lead to data breach incidents
  3. Don’t collect/access/ or save any data on your machine or anywhere when it is not required

There could be serious consequences related to any data breach in any organization while could be warning, reprimand, suspension or fine. You know if there is any breach the cost of failing foul of rules be high. The fine could be upto 20 euro million or 4% of global annual turnover.

These fines are big enough and lots and lots of money. For example, on 16 July 2021, Luxemburg Data Protection Authority fined Euro 746 M on Amaon Europe Core S.a.r.l.
